About Larinda
Intuitive Artist and Healer
Hello, I’m Larinda.
I believe art is like life: an unfolding, a remembering, a return.
Life is a journey “back home”. At least that has been my experience. It seems that as we grow, we become more of who we are meant to be. We become more authentically expressed and (hopefully) a little less socialized. This journey looks different from person to person. Few of us handle it in a graceful steady progression. For me, it has come in messy bursts of fracture and expansion.
I grew up in the oak-studded foothills of coastal California, where art and nature were my first languages. I spent my childhood painting indoors or roaming wild landscapes, absorbing texture and light. In 2001, I earned my BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art—then slowly drifted away from my creative center.
After college, I lived what looked like a responsible life—career, marriage, mortgage—but I felt hollow. I had lost touch with my spirit, my artistry, my sense of wonder. When the world paused during Covid, something primal and creative stirred. Rest returned me to myself. I picked up a brush, followed my intuition, and began painting again—not just as a practice, but as a lifeline.
That return to painting reshaped everything. My work became more urgent, more expressive—rooted in intuition, emotion, and spirit. I began using intuitive painting not just as a creative outlet, but as a practice of personal transformation. Through color and texture, I found my way back to wholeness.
Now, I paint to express the deepest most authentic parts of myself. I paint to express love and rage and all the flavors in between. I paint to build genuine connection with others and uplift them.
What I have learned is art is like life…its often messy and painful…occasionally beautiful. The sweetest renewals often come after the biggest ruptures. The more honest and authentic it is, the more it moves people and connects them. Most importantly, art can awaken, heal, and reground us in our truth.
It is my deepest desire to move, uplift and genuinely connect with you through my artwork.
Thank you for connecting with me.
